However, unlike the hardcore and basic amenities one gets to experience in the first Survivor reality game show (that took place in Borneo), you will enjoy 2 nights stay at the luxurious Borneo Rainforest Lodge set in the virgin rainforest, cycling ride down Mount Silam and to Taliwas Riverside, luxurious local lunch by the river, and jungle experts guiding you through the rainforest.

Itinerary Danum Valley Opulence Bike Ride (3D2N)

1 Day

Transfer from Bike and Tours B&B to Lahad Datu’s Tower of Heaven in Mount Silam which rises 30m high. While you go up the tower to appreciate the scenic view of the Darvel Bay, our team will get the bicycles ready for your 10km down hill on a sealed road.

Briefing on the “do”s and “don’t”s whilst cycling in Danum Valley. It is time to hit the pedals. The first few kilometers, you and your mate/partner will enjoy weaving down the snaky terrain. Take pleasure of the breeze in the rainforest while you get a doze of adrenaline fix! The route will then lead towards a small village before entering the tropical rainforest in the Danum Valley. You will be sheltered with the green shades of both primary and secondary rainforest.Total cycling distance is about 30km. We will make a few stops for snacks and drinks.

Arrival at Taliwas. Taliwas is classified first class forest reserve in the Danum Valley Conservation Area blessed with a lovely clear river and waterfall. After all the pedaling and sweating, just chill and soak in the beauty of Taliwas or simply jump in the river while waiting for freshly cooked lunch to be served. You may choose to swim or simply soak in the beauty of Taliwas.

Around 3pm we leave Taliwas and proceed to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Check in Borneo Rainforest Lodge and Orientation. After Dinner you join a Night Drive in an open-top vehicle in search of nocturnal animal.

Day 2

Breakfast at the Lodge. Morning Jungle Trek: Trek to the Kadazandusun burial site – “Coffin Cliff” before proceeding to “View Point” for a bird’s eye view of the area. Descend to the “ Jacuzzi Pool” for a refreshing dip. Lunch at the Lodge. Afternoon Jungle Trek or go for a relaxing session of ‘tubing’ down the Danum River. Dinner at the Lodge. Night Walk in search of nocturnal animals.

Not included: Drinks at the BRL

Day 3

Breakfast and cycle from BRL to Taliwas. This is about 60km ride on well-maintained gravel road. The road here would be slightly more challenging with a few uphills compared to the 30km ride to Taliwas a few days ago. Stop at Taliwas for a dip in the river. Land transfer to Lahad Datu. Lunch in Lahad Datu and transfer to Lahad Datu Airport.
