Itinerary Sungai Kapur North Tabin Expedition

Duration: 3 Days / 2 Nights

Day 1; Lahad Datu – Sungai Kapur (L/D)

9:00am - Pick up at Lahad Datu. Proceed on a 2 hours land journey to Sungai Kapur in North Tabin. Stop on the way for lunch.

Arrival at Sungai Kapur resthouse which is nestled in Borneo's tropical rainforest.

Go for a short walk around the resthouse which is a nice introduction to the different type of plants and tree species that is available in Borneo. Whilst admiring the beauty of the jungle, make full use of your five senses to spot the wildlife that lives in this jungle.

Return to resthouse to freshen up before proceeding for late afternoon river cruise for wildlife observation.

Proceed to Sandisland to watch the sunset.

Boat ride back to the jetty and look out for the fireflies. Please note that if it is during the full moon, the fireflies encounter may be challenging.

Return to the resthouse, dinner.

Have a goodnight rest and be ready for the next adventure the next day.

Day 2; Sungai Kapur (B/L/D)

4:30am - Wake up to the sounds of the jungle. Have a quick bite and get ready for the morning river cruise.

The boating expedition sees you weaving through the Nipah forest to the mangrove forests. As the sun rises and the boat creates ripples in the water, set your eyes on the stunning view and look out for the wildlife residents during this time of the day.

Simple breakfast on the boat, before the jungle trekking session begins.

Should weather and sea condition permits we will take the boat and follow the coast to Segama River into the mangrove forest before returning to the resthouse for lunch.

Rest and relax

7:00pm Dinner

Night safari on the back of a pickup. Enjoy the silence of the night and lookout for the nocturnals that rule the night

Return to the resthouse and have a good night rest.

Day 3 (B/L)

6:00am - Wake up to the sounds of jungle. Get ready for the morning river cruise.

The boating expedition begins as you once again weave your way through the Nipah and Mangrove Forest and this time around towards the sea. Simple breakfast on the boat.

Soak in the beauty of this spectacular view as its inhabitants chirpily and busily starts its daily routine.

Stop by local village for lunch before heading back to the resthouse.

Bid farewell to the jungle. Land transfer from the Sungai Kapur Resthouse to Lahad Datu.

5:00pm Estimated time of arrival in Lahad Datu.
